Carol Schuster is the SVP Marketing and Business Information at Lafayette 148 New York, a leading luxury women’s fashion retailer. She joined Lafayette 148 New York in 2012 to launch the Company’s first retail stores in China. Today, she leads marketing and digital transformation of the Company, a unique combination whose time has come in a digital age where consumer adoption is driving accelerated change in the retail world. Carol’s background is in global business and marketing with a track record building brands for leading Fortune 500 companies. Her career has spanned agency and client working across the globe living in Europe, North America and Asia dedicated to helping companies with their global expansion as they enter new markets, businesses, and capabilities. Prior to joining Lafayette 148 New York, Carol held the role of Worldwide SVP/CMO Marketing for Royal Caribbean International, the leading global cruise brand, where she launched Quantum of the Seas, the first truly Smart Ship in the industry. Carol started her career in advertising at J. Walter Thompson in Germany helping American brands enter Europe. After the Berlin Wall came down, she started-up the Central & Eastern European global network for the D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles Advertising Agency. In 1996, she returned to New York as its EVP Managing Director to lead its flagship office and the global Procter & Gamble business. In 2002, she joined Ogilvy & Mather as Senior Partner/Global Managing Director leading global client’s businesses. An explorer at heart, Carol received her MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird Graduate School of Global Business and first went to Beijing as a Graduate Student. She attended University of Illinois, where she received a Liberal Arts Degree in Germanic Language & Literature and a minor in Chinese and Economics. Carol is a David Rockefeller Fellow for the NYC Partnership, Global Secretary for the International Advertising Association and North American Chapter President.
