Richard Kong
Professor Dr. Richard Kong was an Associate Professor in Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong from 1990 -2023. Presently, he is an Adjunct Professor at the Research Centre for Oceans and Human Health in the Shenzhen Research Institute, Mainland China, and serves as a Scientific Advisor and Consultant to the biotech company, Hands Life Science Limited, Hong Kong. Over the years, he has been well-funded by many internal and external industrial grants and Hong Kong SAR Government funding (totaling over US$6 million) to carry out both basic and applied research that focused on the development and application of novel DNA-based technologies for biomedical applications as well as risk assessment tools to address problems related to environmental and human health. Dr. Kong has published over 100 research articles in leading international journals and has served on the Editorial Board and as a reviewer for several top-tier International Publications and Research Funding Bodies.
